Mr. Attaf co-chairs the proceedings of the 6th session of the Algerian-Senegalese Joint Commission with his Senegalese counterpart.

This morning in Algiers, Mr. Ahmed Attaf—Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs—co-chaired the proceedings of the 6th session of the Algerian-Senegalese Joint Grand Commission alongside Mr. Yassine Fall (represented by Mr. Cheikh Niang), the Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad of the sister Republic of Senegal.
The proceedings of the Joint Commission were preceded by a private meeting between the two ministers, followed by expanded talks between the delegations of both countries.
The convening of the Joint Grand Commission marked a significant milestone in realizing the two countries' shared will to inject new momentum into their fraternal relations. It served to translate the high-level directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his counterpart, the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, into practical steps aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding its scope.
In this context, the proceedings provided an opportunity to assess various areas of cooperation between Algeria and Senegal and to define new objectives and priorities across key sectors. These ranged from economic fields—such as investment, energy, mining, industry, agriculture, air transport, and finance—to sectors focused on human capital development within the bilateral relationship, including higher education, media, youth and sports, justice, culture, and women's empowerment.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, the two ministers signed the minutes of the Joint Grand Commission meeting, as well as 15 agreements and memoranda of understanding, thereby enriching the legal framework governing Algerian-Senegalese relations.
