Mr. Attaf holds talks with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York

At the conclusion of his participation in the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf—Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs—met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the state of international relations and discuss key challenges facing multilateral action and the United Nations, amidst the escalating crises and tensions currently witnessed worldwide.
The two sides also addressed efforts to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region, alongside UN efforts to support peace and security across the African continent.
Furthermore, the discussions covered the latest developments in the negotiation process regarding the Western Sahara issue and prospects for advancing the UN-led track toward a political settlement of the conflict, in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
