Mr. Attaf participates in the high-level dialogue marking the fifth anniversary of the launch of the Global Development Initiative.

Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, participated at the United Nations headquarters in New York in the high-level dialogue marking the fifth anniversary of the launch of the Global Development Initiative. Held under the theme "Together for a New Chapter in the Journey of Sustainable Development," the event was chaired by Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People's Republic of China.

The meeting—attended by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed and high-level representatives from member states and international organizations—provided an opportunity to review achievements made under the initiative and to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and partnerships to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In his address, Mr. Ahmed Attaf reaffirmed Algeria’s support for the Global Development Initiative, commending its contribution to bolstering the efforts of developing countries in addressing widening global development gaps.

He also emphasized the importance of boosting investments and productive projects, developing infrastructure and digitalization, and fostering knowledge exchange and technology transfer. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to mobilize sustainable financing that aligns with the priorities of these countries and enables the implementation of their development plans.

The Minister of State reiterated Algeria’s commitment to continuing its work with China and other partners to achieve more inclusive and equitable development.
