Mr. Chaib takes part remotely in the celebrations marking the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Liberation Revolution

As part of the activities organized by our diplomatic and consular missions abroad to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious War of Liberation, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, participated remotely in the celebrations held by our consular missions for this momentous national occasion.

In an address delivered for the occasion, he recalled the sacrifices of our noble martyrs and our esteemed *mujahideen* (freedom fighters), highlighting the historic role played by the Algerian community abroad in supporting the War of Liberation and championing the national cause.

The Secretary of State emphasized that safeguarding the national memory and transmitting it to rising generations remains a steadfast priority for the Algerian State, reflecting the special attention the country’s highest authorities dedicate to preserving and promoting this historical legacy.

In this context, Mr. Chaib underscored the particular significance of this year’s commemorations, which featured an initiative by the Ministry of *Mujahideen* and Rights-Holders to honor *mujahideen* residing abroad. This initiative was inaugurated by presenting certificates of recognition—signed by the Minister of *Mujahideen* and Rights-Holders—to a number of these individuals within the consular jurisdictions of Strasbourg, Metz, and Besançon. He highlighted the spirit of loyalty and gratitude embodied by this gesture of recognition toward our *mujahideen* (freedom fighters)—both men and women—affirming that the initiative will be continued on a periodic basis and expanded to include those residing abroad within the various diplomatic and consular missions.

He further underscored the importance of preserving the strong bonds that connect members of the national diaspora to their homeland, and of fostering these ties among the younger generations. He also commended the Algerian community abroad for their steadfast attachment to their country, their devotion to its glorious history, and their continued commitment—each from their own position—to serving the nation.
